MGT610 Organisational Best Practice Case Study Sample

MGT610 Organisational Best Practice

Context

In Assessment 1 you reviewed an organisation’s current strategy, analysed its performance using 4 benchmarks, reviewed its main competitors, the business environment in which it operates, and identified its main weakness. The organisation now has an opportunity to address that weakness, and as such, solutions must be developed and assessed with a view of their holistic effects on the business’s long- term direction. This “future-proofing” assessment asks you to build on your understanding of benchmarking by developing options related to the opportunity for business improvement identified in Case Study Analysis; Part A. Your analysis should specify a range of benchmarks by which the organisation’s executive can track progress and/or measure the impact of changes. These options are intended to inform decisions made by executive management about the future direction of the organisation. As such, you should write a report for executive management that recommends a particular course of action and the benchmarks by which its progress and success can be measured.

3. Identify and recommend four (4) benchmarks you would use to ensure the organisation is maximising the benefits from the opportunity that this option presents.

Solution

Introduction

The market size of the organization is growing and organizations need to undertake strategies to overcome the existing barrier to progress development. Today's market situation is to be managed perfectly within the context of the study. Weaknesses identified in the previous work will be managed in a significant and effective way. As per the MBA Assignment Experts, The Indigenous literacy foundation of Australia is responsible for fulfilment of the demand of the aboriginal community in Australia. In the environment in which the indigenous community of Australia is moving is hard for obtaining education and financial support to change their lives and requirements. Indigenous people of Australia require more comprehensive support from the community. The weaknesses of the organization have affected its growth and development in extending its support more properly and effectively. The study will explain the witnesses and analyse its causes and effectively suggest alternative and appropriate solutions for the existing crises in the organization.

Weakness

The organization is not capable of enough resources and financial sources within the context of the workplace. Garrison, Carmichael & Manck, (2018) found that the massive economic investment is found to be like in the context of the organization. The economic growth of the organization is not potential within the context of the place. The indigenous children of the community are found to be potentially effective. There is significant progress and development within the context of the workplace. The organization focuses on the improvement of the indigenous community and it offers support to children and young men for enhancing their economic development (Mamtora, Ovaska & Mathiesen, 2021). The lack of potential sources of funding makes it difficult for the organization to achieve a positive outcome within the context of the workplace.

The absence of potential members has affected the organization in its operation. The effectiveness of the organization is largely dependent on managing its operation with a large number of workforces for better accessibility and enhanced reaching of the product of the organization to the consumer. It is difficult to accommodate a large number of volunteers as the people do not want to work in the context of the workplace.

SWOT analysis

Strength

Weakness

  • The company is a widely known brand. It provides support and health services to a large number of children in Australia.
  • The organization has good health services innovation and an opportunity to achieve potential growth solutions (Gutierrez, Lowe & Guenther, 2021).
  • The organization receives support from UNESCO. The support from the world-class organization is improving its internal strength.
  • The company has collected 20 million Australian dollars with the potential use of a new funding policy.
  • The organization supports a large number of communities and aims to provide quality education to children. The organization lacks the proper support from funding sources.
  • The lack of manpower within the organization continues to affect the organizational capability and effectiveness. The organization may have significant damage to the organizational capability and efficiency within the context of the workplace.

Opportunities

Threat

  • The population of the indigenous community is improving and the organization finds a potential opportunity for expansion within the context of the workplace.
  • Organizations may offer training to more people and the community and it will help to develop a large workforce.
  • The organization may connect itself with multiple International organizations to enhance its funding sources.
  • The absence of a potential source of income may cause a significant impact on the organization.
  • It may be very disturbing if the organization could hardly make significant and effective long term growth.

PESTEL analysis

Political: The country is regulated by a democratic structure and it helps in fast decision making. Organizations could hardly manage to obtain a high degree of satisfaction.

Economics: The GDP of the country is moving with a 3.9% change and it has suggested potential growth and development in the long term. It will have a significant positive impact on the organization. The negative aspect of the economic potential of the organization is noted in its lack of capacity to focus on the education system. The slow GDP growth may have a deep impact on the organization.

Social: The structure of Australia has suggested a requirement for significant improvement in the indigenous community (Macdonald et al., 2018). The education of the indigenous community will improve society positively. Lack of enough education may affect society at large.
Technology: The organization focuses on cost-effective technology best learning strategy to offer student education at a reduced cost. The original community may achieve a positive outcome from virtual learning.

Environmental: The absence of proper education may have a potential impact on the mind-set of the aboriginal community (Godinho et al., 2018). The aboriginal community continues to reduce the forest.

Legal: The organization is responsible for disseminating the information regarding the rights of the individual in the indigenous community. They are also to be provided with knowledge regarding the management of the services. It may have a positive impact on the organizational strategy of the organization.
The slow GDP makes it difficult to manage the funding sources. The pandemic had affected the organization in a significant and effective way. The major corporations and partners are frustrated with the slow GDP growth and has been deeply affected as a result of the scarcity of funding.

Discussion

3 options

Option-1: Transparency for improving the members

The organization need to develop a regular audit of the account to achieve a positive outcome from the irregularity. The organization need to approach economically bright and stable member in the context of the organization (Macdonald et al., 2018). Organizations need to incorporate financially strong team members for stable cash flow to support the children belonging to indigenous communities. The development of processes and procedure will help to attract the new member by the source of networking and help to achieve potential effective growth over the period (Sonter & Kemp, 2021). The networking will expand the funding sources and also incorporate a large number of interested volunteers with the use of the current market strategy. Regular audit of the account will develop a sense of confidence and reliability of the investor as well as the state holder of the organization and it will also encourage the stakeholders to donate a large sum to the organization (Guglielmetti et al., 2013). The organization will achieve significant progress and development with large network expansion among the stakeholder as well as the community member within 5 years.

Option-2: marketing of its service and collaboration with competitors

The company is responsible for offering services to the indigenous community with health and education support. The collaboration with major players in similar services will help to increase its capability and resources in the context of the current market situation. The focus of the organization is to provide reliable services to poor children. Collaboration with the major competitor will help to reduce the financial as well as manpower pressure on the organization in a potentially effective way (Mamtora, Ovaska & Mathiesen, 2021). The growth and expansion of the organization could be achieved with the current process of improvement. The company will manage to engage in the services with a large number of organizations reducing the need for funds and improving its network of operations and helping to reach the community at large within 5 years of its operation.

Option-3: increasing the stakeholders for stable donors and cost-cutting

The major stakeholder of the organization is the non-profit organization and the organization needs to increase the government to increase the funding for expansion of the organization and improvement of men power with regular and minimum payment to the worker. The proper manipulation of the stakeholder could help to rise funding from the government as well as other organizations (Rademaker & Rowse, 2020). The manipulation of the stakeholders will help to achieve a positive outcome within the context of the workplace. The existing stakeholders of the organization need to attract and retain government funding for reliable growth and effective expansion of the benefit of the organization to the nation and indigenous children (Innocentlivesfoundation.org, 2022). The engagement with profit organizations and collaboration with community members will ensure a stable donation and reduce the need for extra educational costs for the community members.

Justification of option-3

It is the better marketing and promotional tactics to attract and retain new financially stable members of the organization (Desmarchelier, Austin & Jetta, 2018). The organization has incorporated the Australian bookseller association. Australian public services, the children book council of Australia and the Australian society of authors in the past and the organization can also approach major companies and encourage them to spend more on corporate social responsibility to increase the literacy rate among the children of the indigenous community (Macdonald et al., 2018). The dynamic marketing of the organization's ambitious goals and vision will attract and retain a large number of employees across the world.  The integration of national companies and their collaboration will help to develop a stable income.

The Incorporation of the government as a stakeholder of the organization contributes to the funding sources of the organization in a significant and effective way. Good funding sources will also expand its network and regular marketing communication and community awareness will increase the number of volunteers in the context of the workplace (Gutierrez, Lowe & Guenther, 2021). The stable funding sources will help the organization to expand its network and operation to encourage the larger good of the community. Government funding is considered to be consistent and effective within the context of the workplace. The organization needs to develop relations with educational institution publishers and technology-based organizations to support the dissemination of information regarding education. The development of a relationship with the educational institution will further expand its network of operation and also help the organization to function more developed with community-based services (Mamtora, Ovaska & Mathiesen, 2021). The large organizational network will enable the organization to promote the cause in an effective way attracting donations from the non-indigenous community and large corporations.

4 leading indicators

It is Parker’s (2001) Framework for Defining Sustainable Organisational Best Practice that will be applied to the current situation.
Financials – P&L

The management of cash flow and sustainability are essential contacts of the organization. It is the positive cash flow from the operation of the organization that helps in the positive development in the progress of the organization. The average monthly income of the organization could help to compensate for all the requirements of the organization. As the organization grows and expands its network of operation, the stable cash flow helps to improve the better and more effective outcome (Rademaker & Rowse, 2020). The organization needs to spend 40% of the income on administrative and daily expenses and reserve 60% of funding for larger projects in future.

2024

Revenue growth

10%

12%

15%

Expense

8%

The revenue growth needs to be improved and expenses need to be reduced significantly. The organization needs to have a liquidity ratio as it means that the organization will have enough resources to manage a better and positive outcome within the context of the workplace (Flynn, 2022). The improvement of the liquidity ratio will help the organization to improve its power in extreme circumstances (Herrera, 2015). Accounting surplus is considered to be highly effective in charitable organizations for incorporating facilities and equipment within the context of the workplace. Indigenous literacy Foundation needs to develop a potential policy for maintaining the cash reserve equal to 2 or 3 months of expense (Desmarchelier, Austin & Jetta, 2018). The high value of the organization will suggest a strong liquidity position. A debt above 50% may cause significant damage to the management ability of the organization.

Customer and Employee Satisfaction

It is considered to be lagging indicator for the absence of client satisfaction in the past for its ineffective services with fund shortage and lack of efficient resources (Sheehan et al., 2016). The organization needs to focus more on the improvement of human resources with the incorporation of a variety of volunteers across the community (Coates et al., 2021). It is difficult for the organization to obtain permanent workers within the organization and therefore potential and innovative leadership could help to improve the potential growth the increase the membership (McGonagle & J;Fleming, 1998). The organization has been affected by the lack of manpower and the organization is also not capable of paying a handsome amount to the worker. The organization needs to develop a cost-efficient workforce.

The indigenous community needs to be support and the rate of growth of satisfaction needs to improve with the rate of 8% in comparison to Naaja and Health Services. The organization is more focused on spending less than a hundred dollars for each employee to function. Other organizations engaged in similar services charge for educational and health services and therefore they have more spending power (Herrera, 2015). The organization Naaja and healing foundation provide the service to the community with higher payment to the employee (Shah, Deven, Kleiner, & Brian., 2011). Keeping the cost of the services from the employee below $100 will help to improve the quality and efficiency of the organization and enable long term growth (Macdonald et al., 2018). The number of volunteers needs to grow by 10% every year and in 5 years the organization will receive potential growth and development over some time. The use of volunteers in the service will reduce the cost of operation.

Market Share

The focus of the organization is largely dependent on regular donations received from the people and community. The organization operates with the money provided by the people and community. The average retention rate of the donor is found to be 45.5% in non-profit organizations. The cost of raising funds needs to be below $0.2 (Fogarty et al., 2018).

Funding is essential for the organization to support the indigenous community. The organization needs to support the indigenous community across the globe (Weller, 2014). The general fundraising matrix is associated with the cost of fundraising divided by the amount raised. It is further noted that the growth that has been achieved as a result of the funding rose. Organizations need to expect growth of 8% when it comes to fundraising (Gutierrez, Lowe & Guenther, 2021). The budget for fundraising needs to be below $100K. Direct marketing is to be performed in the context of the acquisition of new donors. The campaign is to be developed in the context of the workplace that will attract and retain new donors (Herold, 2018). The cost of digital marketing needs to be 5% of the total donation received in the context of the workplace. The organization need to enhance fundraising effectiveness with the proper expenditure. The first time renewal rate needs to be 21. 22% of members return (Rademaker & Rowse, 2020). The cost of digital marketing is high and the organization engaged in fundraising is found to have reported a 7.6% growth in revenue. The organization needs consistency in managing the funding sources.

Sustainability

The income and expense needs to be more sustainable. The organization needs to incorporate the donors and reduce the cost of acquisition with appropriate marketing and sustainable use of donors. The expenses of the organization are found to be 433793 in 2019. The organization has made an expenditure of 52% of its funding on indigenous literacy. The organization has reduced its cost of administration by 16%. The cost of fundraising is found to be 2%. The reduction of the cost of marketing by 10% in the area of administration management and workforce management will help to improve cost-effectiveness (Mamtora, Ovaska & Mathiesen, 2021). The cost reduction will enhance the organizational sustainability. The organization is found to have covered a large audience within the context of the workplace. The organization attempts to provide services to the 2.3 million populations across the globe. The total population of Aboriginals is found to be 727500. Organizations need to cover a large number of the population within the context of the workplace.

Conclusion

It can be said that the effective and efficient management of the funding stability will help to manage and explore a better and more effective outcome. The improvement of the fundraising strategy will help to improve a better and more effective outcome within the context of the workplace. The transparency in the accounting system helps to attract and retain donors and stakeholders. The weaknesses in the organization are associated with financial stability within the context of the workplace. The identified strategy for the organization is the improvement in the area of funding sources stability with attraction and retention of the donor. The integration of digital marketing will help to gain stakeholders as well as other marketing organizations.
