This assessment requires students to work in a group of 3 to analyse a real-life project, either completed (within last five years) or ongoing to evaluate and discuss its QRP management plan (Quality management, risk management, procurement management) in successful delivery of the project. Solution 

Introduction 

The following study will discuss the importance of QRP and how it can ensure that a project is delivered successfully with the expected quality assurance. The project that has been chosen for this study is the Revised Urban Forest Project which is ongoing in Sydney. This study will refer to the project and will discuss the quality management that was followed in the project along with how the project managed the risk factors and initiated an effective procurement process. The significance of QRP management in the successful delivery of the project will also be demonstrated. An overall conclusion of the entire study will also be provided. 

Overview of The Project 

The revised Urban Forest Project is a project that is ongoing in Sydney. The project started on 13th December 2022 and will end on 28th February 2023 (City of Sydney, 2022). The main objectives of the project include:

- To increase the quality and quantity of our urban tree cover in roads, recreation areas, and residences.
- To more equitably distribute canopy across the local area.
- Improve community mental and physical health outcomes by increasing forest resilience through species diversity management.

As a part of the strategic community plan of Sydney (Sustainable Sydney 2030-2050) this project has been undertaken in order to take a step forward towards achieving the sustainable development goal. There was also a survey that was conducted before starting the project. The survey results showcased that 77% of survey participants wanted a green city, residential areas and parks. 85% of the total survey participants wished to see more greenery in local streets (City of Sydney, 2022). The results from the survey mainly influenced the idea behind the project. Before starting this project plan, the greening strategy of Sydney was developed in July 2021, a part of which is the Revised Urban Forest Project. Trees will be grown in the landscape of Sydney for the present and future generations. The sustainability of the environment and the health and well-being of the citizens of Sydney will be ensured with the help of this project. 

Concept of QRP Management 

QRP management stands for quality risk and procurement management. This QRP management framework is followed in various types of projects in order to ensure the quality of the project, address the potential risk and effectively conduct a procurement process for resources (Sönnichsen and Clement, 2020). QRP management mainly sets a list of measures and strategies that can be applied in a project in order to better manage the project. This framework helps in identifying the potential risk that can hamper the project. This framework also provides measures with the help of which those identified risks can be easily addressed. The framework also provides various strategies with the help of which the quality of the project can be maintained. The QRP management also helps in assisting project team members in conducting an effective procurement process for resourcing all the resources and materials that will be required for the project (Sönnichsen and Clement, 2020). The QRP management framework also helps project team members in various processes and activities of the project. It also provides guidelines for the effective management of project resources and labour. 

Quality Management 

There are approximately 88,500 trees in the surrounding area. This contains 34,500 trees in streets, 14,000 trees in parks, and approximately 40,000 residential trees in Sydney (Fahimnia et al., 2019). The canopy of all these trees encompasses 19.8% of the surrounding area. Sydney city is among only a few Australian councils that have increased exponentially canopy cover over the last decade. After the adoption of the city's most recent greening Sydney strategy in July 2021, the city councils have now reviewed the urban forest strategy. This review guarantees that the tree canopy is handled for the sake of the entire society and subsequent generations. The project has been conducted to ensure that the quality of the project is well managed. The project ensured that only good-quality canopy trees are planted in the city so that the trees can sustain all types of weather conditions across all seasons (Borkovskaya, Degaev and Burkova, 2018). The planting of trees has also been done in a sustainable manner so that land and soil do not get exploited. In addition to this, Sydney city councils hired professionals in order to manage the project. The city council didn't just want to keep on planting trees across the city. It is also the aim of the project to ensure that the plating of the canopy is done in a proper way so that the sidewalks do not get covered with trees. The project also ensured citizens of the city provided their suggestions so that the project can be carried out in an effective manner (Zimon, Tyan and Sroufe, 2020). The insights from the survey round also helped in influencing the project. The survey results showcased that 77% of survey participants wanted a green city, residential areas and parks. 85% of the total survey participants wished to see more greenery in local streets. The results from the survey mainly influenced the idea behind the project. In order to maintain the quality of the project, the project team members followed various measures such as the selection of appropriate tools and machinery that would be required to clear the area before the plantation. The project team also strategically chose the supply partners so that high-quality canopies can be planted (Ford and Lyneis, 2020). More detailed land use analysis to confirm canopy cover targets. A greater emphasis on coordination is required to successfully integrate trees throughout the landscape. Increased participation and cooperation with land managers in and around our area. 

The project team also ensured to gain more knowledge on urban forestry by gathering various types of relevant information that would help the project team in ensuring that they complete this project with success. In order to ensure the sustainability of the environment, the project also ensured that the trees are planted in such a way that the surrounding area would stay calmer and cooler. The project team members also ensured the quality of the project by conducting various tests so that they can understand what types of quality assurance tools can work best for the project team. The project team also ensured that all the members of the project have a good knowledge of how to make use of different quality assessment tools and measures. This helped the project team to reach the expected quality of the project (Kohler and Dimancesco, 2020). In addition to this, all the members of the project were also given proper training so that their competencies and skills can be developed. This also helped the project team in understanding their job roles better. The project team also understood how they will be able to meet the requirements of the project since this project is a high profile project and is being conducted by the council of the city. If the project failed to meet the required quality, this would have resulted in the project team and also the city council coming under public scrutiny. Lastly, the project team also initiated an effective procurement process that helped them in resourcing good quality canopies that would grow and expand throughout the area (Wang, Zhao and Huchzermeier, 2021). The planting process was also done following proper measures so that the surrounding area would no6 get impacted due to the activities that were being conducted. 

Risk Management

Risk management is also an important part of project management. Eerie projects have certain types of risks which need to be identified in the initial stage so that particular risks do not impact the overall project. Risk management is important for ensuring that the project is completed within the given timeframe, budget and quality (Ding et al., 2018). The successful delivery of a project depends on how well the project team members identify the risks of the project and address those risks. The Revised Urban Forest Project also took good care of the risk that might exist in the project. The project team members were quite efficient and had the experience of working on projects properly. This helped the project team in identifying the risks that might come their way before even starting the project. This helped the project team members in being prepared for facing those risks. A proper risk assessment framework was also followed by the project team members wherein the potential risk was identified along with the measures that would be necessary for addressing those risks. The project team members also went through various training that helped them in developing various skills and capabilities that helped them in better addressing the risks that came in their way (Halou, Samin and Ahmad, 2019 ). One of the main risks that were faced by the project was that growing canopies of certain types can be quite difficult and many canopies do not even grow in certain weather conditions. This factor acted as a potential risk for the project team members since, if they fail to procure canopies that can grow in any weather condition, the project team might face huge issues surrounding exceeding the budget of the project. In order to plant the seeds of the canopies, the targeted area would have to be cleaned so that the plantation can be done in a proper way. In addition to this, issues related to the planting process ibn damaging the quality of the soil in the surrounding area was also a major risk factor for the project. This project would cover a massive area and the project team members needed to ensure that they followed all the necessary measures that would prevent the digging and cleaning process from impacting the quality of soil in the surrounding areas. Planting and growing canopies is also a major task since proper care needs to be taken for the canopies to grow and develop. If proper care is not provided to the canopies, the canopies might not grow as expected and even if it grows, the companies might die after some days. This would result in the project members facing various types of issues (Kordova, Katz and Frank, 2019). Hence, the project team also hired people who would look after taking proper care of the canopies. Since Sydney city is a busy city with huge traffic, the project also needed to ensure that the canopies are planted in areas where people can easily walk and also the trees would not come in the way of people who are travelling by vehicle. If a tree is mistakenly planted in an area where vehicles move, it might result in accidents. Hence, proper planning was done by the project team before starting the project. This included various processes such as the selection of appropriate areas and the type of canopies that would grow in that area. The project team also checked the solid quality of the tagged area before starting the plantation process. This is a necessary measure since if canopies are planted in areas where the soil quality is poor it would result in the companies not growing well in those areas and would result in the risk of exceeding the budget of the project hence, checking the quality of the soil was a necessary task (Borkovskaya, Degaev and Burkova, 2018). Lastly, risk related to the project exceeding the deadline of the project delivery was also mitigated by proper planning. The project team effectively planned all the deliverables of the project. All the activities that were included in the project were completed step by step. This ensured that all the milestones of the project were met in the given timeframe.  

Procurement Management 

The procurement process of the project is quite important since the resourcing of all the necessary materials that are required for the project helps a project in achieving success. The procurement process also needs to be done in the initial stage since this would help the project team to have all the necessary materials and resources with the help of which they would be able to complete the project within the given time (Sönnichsen and Clement, 2020). Since this project is aimed at planting canopies in various areas of Sydney, it is also quite essential for the project team to ensure that they get the required canopies. Canopies are of different types and not every type of canopy can grow and develop in different types of weather conditions selection of appropriate canopies types according to the weather condition of the area is important. Hence, the first step in procurement management for this significant project is to conduct research on different types of canopies. The project team members needed to research the different types of canopies that are available and also research what types of canopies would be best for the project (Handfield, Jeong and Choi, 2019). A lot of time is allocated for this purpose so that before the start of the project, the canopy type can be decided. In addition to this, canopies also do not grow in areas where the pollution level is high. Hence, before the selection of the canopy type, it was also important for the procurement team to research the type of canopies that they need to include for the project. In addition to this, the selection of the supply partner was also necessary for the project. The project team required a supply partner that would supply them with all the necessary resources on tike. Hence, a lot of time was also spent on selecting nearby suppliers who would supply all the project's necessary resources to the project team on time (Layaq et al., 2019). The project team also researched the type of canopy that has long life spans since it would help in ensuring that the development that is done in Sydney in teams of planting the canopies can sustain for a long time. In order to plant the canopies, it is not just the seeds that are required, a lot of other materials are also required for growing the canopies. For example, various types of fertilisers, manures and machinery are also required for the planting and growing purpose of the canopies. Hence, choosing the proper supply partner is required to ensure that all the required materials are resources effectively. The procurement process also includes providing the project team with different types of machinery that are required for digging the area and cleaning the land for planting the canopy seeds (Samimi, 2020). Hence, the procurement team also ensured that they are supplied with machinery that would help them in completing the digging and planting process as soon as possible. In addition to this, it was also necessary for the procurement team to take care of various other activities such as getting the supply of various other materials. The procurement team also took time to check the quality of the canopies that they received from the supply partners. Various types of canopies were also sent to the project team for them to choose the type of canopies that they would like to include. Various testing processes also went into choosing the appropriate canopy. Lastly, the project team was able to decide on the canopy type. In order to increase the fertility of the soil, the procurement team also got supplied with various types of fertilisers made out of natural and organic materials (Wang, Zhao and Huchzermeier, 2021). This significantly helped in improving the solid quality so that the canopies that are planted can grow for a long time with good quality. The procurement team also developed their order tracking quality with the help of various tools that helped in providing live tracking information to the procurement team of the project. The technology was also developed so that tracking can be done effectively. Since the quality of the project mainly depended on the quality of the canopies, the successful procurement process also helped in ensuring that the project was delivered with the expected quality. 

Relevance of QRP in Successful Delivery of The Project 

The success of a project mainly depends on the QRP management of the project. Every project has certain quality expectations and the project needs to ensure that the quality of the project is met. Hence, project team members need to comply with the QRP management framework. The QRP management framework provides project teams with all the necessary approaches and strategies that they can follow to ensure that the project is delivered with success (Force et al., 2019). The QRP management also guides project team members with various issues that the project team might face while conducting the project. In order to ensure the quality of the project, the project team managers need to follow the quality assessment procedures that are mentioned in the QRP management framework. Following the QRP management helps project team members to understand how they will be able to achieve the desired quality of the project. Managing the quality of the project is important for the successful delivery of the project. Every project has certain risks which have the potential of hampering the overall project. Hence, to ensure that the project is risk-free, the project needs to follow the guidelines of the QRP management framework. The QRP framework helps in detecting the risks that might arise in the project and suggest effective measures with the help of which those risks can be identified and addressed. The QRP management framework also assists the project team with various strategies with the help of which they can effectively manage the timeline and resources of the project (Mahmoudi et al., 2019). The QRP management framework also provides proper risk assembly measures with the help of which the project team can identify the risks they might face before starting the project. This helps the project team members to identify the risk and find its solution before starting the project process. In addition to this, The QRP management also helps project team members in initiating an effective procurement process so that all the required materials and resources can be delivered to the project team on time (Ding et al., 2018). The management framework also provides effective measures with which the project team will be able to understand the suppliers that they would need to select in order to ensure that all the required materials and resources can be delivered to the project team on time. In addition to this, the QRP management also helps project team members to manage the deliverables of their project (Kordova, Katz and Frank, 2019). It assists with proper guidance regarding how they will be able to achieve the milestones of the project MBA assignment expert.

The process of quality management and procurement helps the project deliver smoother shit to the proactive strategies and preventive measures. This process makes continuous improvements that are encouraged with the identified services and goods. The opportunities are identified that manage, monitor and ensure the unexpected outcomes are ceased (Halou, Samin and Ahmad, 2019). The management of procurement and risks revolves around the objectives that have their concentration on the achievement of the criteria that begins at the initiation of the project (Tavares et al., 2019). The other goal of testing and developing the processes prevent all the defects with efficacy. The successful delivery of the project is shaped by the sustainability imbibed in the process. Technological adaptation is also installed that creates new dimensions to manage all the risks and responsibilities. The technological capabilities maintain and supervise the projects so that they would gain efficiencies. The interrelationship between sustainability and quality hastens the project's success and accomplished values. The relevance of the project lies in the maintenance of safety and health and less consumption of energy. Efficacious Management of risks is dependent on the cohesiveness of the projects in reducing the risks and maximising the benefits of the projects to embolden performance. The broad perspectives of the risks that are managed have their focus on identifying security, compliances and the operational chain of supply. The business process accommodates the set of business processes and leaderships that create the collaborative aspects to impact quality. The decision-making process is improved by using important tools and processes to reinforce the principles and operations in validating the quality (Keshk, Maarouf and Annany, 2018). The data-driven decisions uphold the necessity of the projects to be delivered fast. The control of risks determines the performance and the acceleration of competitiveness. The management of risks is embedded into quality management that makes use of tactical approaches and strategic initiatives. Preventive and corrective actions control the process of risk management. Quality management is valuable that adheres to the pervasiveness of the management. The organisational culture links the risk-based perspectives in developing the framework of quality management. Risk-resilience method is upgraded that enhances the proficiency of a particular project.

Conclusion

It can hence be concluded from the above study that the Revised Urban Forest Project that took place in Sydney that mainly aimed in attaining the greening Sydney initiative has been successful with the help of QRP management. The project team members were to meet the quality of the project with the help of the quality management approaches that the team followed. All the risks that the project might face were identified and the risks were addressed with the help of the risk assessment guidelines that are provided in the QRP management. The procurement process of the project was also done effectively with the help of the procurement management process.
